The emigrant investor certificate attests that Cape Verdean citizens residing abroad have investments made in Cabo Verde. This certificate provides access to investment projects, incentives and benefits aimed at emigrant investors
Who can apply and what is needed
The emigrant certificate can be requested by:
- Cape Verdean investors with permanent residence abroad
To request this certificate you need:
- Income tax return or other document proving emigrant status
- Proof of the investment made in Cabo Verde
- Valid identification document
- Tax Identification Number (NIF)

How to obtain the emigrant investor certificate online
You can request this service on the portal or in the GOV.CV app. To start, click "Apply online" and follow these steps:
Fill in the identification details
Enter first name, last name and other required details
Provide the identification document
Enter the details of a valid document
Fill in the emigrant certificate details
Provide your NIF, the date you moved abroad, and the type of investment
Attach the documents
Attach the documents proving emigrant status and the investment
Finalize the request
Check and, if necessary, change the details before finalizing the request
Make the payment
Pay simply and securely using digital means
Track your request
Track the status of your request in the "My requests" area, available on the portal or in the GOV.CV app.
