Request, renew or replace the National Identification Card
Start the process of issuing, renewing, or replacing your National Identification Card (CNI). Select the type of request, choose how you would like to receive the document, and attach the required documents.
- Choose the type of request:
Standard Request (10 business days)
Urgent Request - Choose the type of delivery:
Collection at the service desk: choose the nearest embassy, consulate, or institution to collect your CNI.
Delivery by mail: if you choose home delivery, please consider the issuance time and shipping time. You will receive a tracking code once the document is sent. - Attach the documents:
If the request is for a minor, you must attach an authorization signed by one of the parents or the legal guardian. During the videoconference, the minor must be accompanied by the respective responsible adult.
- Collect biometric data:
The collection of biometric data is a mandatory step and can only be completed through the Portal Gov.cv mobile application.
Check the instructions that will help you take the photograph correctly.
- Confirm biographical data:
Check that the information you entered in the previous steps is correct.
- Make payment:
Make the payment using the available digital options: MBWay, Multibanco, Visa, Vinti4, Paypal, MasterCard, or American Express.
- Schedule Videoconference:
After completing the payment, schedule a videoconference to verify your identity.
To track the status of your request, access the "My Requests" area, available on the Portal or App Gov.cv.
