Birth Transcript

Birth transcription allows you to register, in Cape Verde, a birth that occurred abroad based on a certificate issued by the authorities of the country where the birth took place. The transcription request can be made on the Gov.cv portal.  

1. Required Documents:
   • Interested party's birth certificate (valid);
   • Birth certificate of one of the Cape Verdean parents or grandparents;
   • Nationality declaration certificate. If the interested party is under 18 years old, the document must be signed by the parents;
   • Identification document.
2. Deadline:

   The process can take between 15 to 20 business days.
