Apply for or renew your Cape Verdean passport

Start the process of issuing or renewing your passport. Select the type of request, choose how you would like to receive the document, and attach the required documents.

1. Choose the type of request:

   Standard request (10 business days)
   Urgent request

2. Choose the type of Delivery:

   Collection at the service desk: choose the nearest embassy, consulate, or institution to collect your passport.
   Delivery by mail: if you choose home delivery, please consider the issuance time and shipping time. You will receive a tracking code once the document is sent.

3. Attach the documents:

   If the request is for a minor, you must attach an authorization signed by one of the parents or the legal guardian. During the videoconference, the minor must be accompanied by the respective responsible adult.

   In cases of destruction, theft, or loss of the passport, submitting a declaration is mandatory.

4. Collect biometric data:

   The collection of biometric data is a mandatory step and can only be completed through the Portal Gov.cv mobile application.

5. Confirm biographical data:

   Check that the information you entered in the previous steps is correct.

6. Make payment:

   Make the payment using the available digital options: MBWay, Multibanco, Visa, Vinti4, Paypal, MasterCard, or American Express.

7. Schedule Videoconference:

   After completing the payment, schedule a videoconference to verify your identity.

To track the status of your request, access the "My Requests" area, available on the Portal or App Gov.cv.
