Requirements for photographs
Your photo must have the following digital requirements and be at least 6 months old.

Technical Requirements
The photo must contain the following requirements:
- Portrait photo with a 4:3 or 3:4 aspect ratio on a smartphone;
- jpg or jpeg format;
- Size between 250 KB and 10 MB;
- Dimensions between 900 and 4500 pixels wide and 1200 and 6000 pixels high.
Scanned photos are not acceptable for on the Gov.cv portal.

Requirements for capturing the photograph
No background shadow or uneven lighting on the face
Stay a little away from the bottom. Check if the light source is balanced, if natural lighting is the best.

True Likeness
The image must have a true resemblance and must not be altered or distorted in any way.
Have someone take the photo and make sure the camera is:
- 1.5 m away from the face;
- At eye level.
If the camera is too close to the face, the nose and forehead may appear larger and the ears less visible.

Gap in the head
The head should be centered with a clear space around the sides and on top of the head.
It has to show part of the shoulders or the upper part of the chest.

Strong contrast between image and background
Use a light background that doesn't contain objects or other people.

Face in full view
With his face turned to the camera.

The eyes clearly visible
You can wear glasses in your photo.

They cannot be sunglasses, tinted or thick-framed.

There can be no glare or reflection from the flash on the lenses.
There should be a clear space between your eyes and the frames.


Neutral expression
Have a neutral expression with your mouth closed.

No hats, hoodies, pads or headscarves
No head covering or clubbing should be worn in the photo unless you need to wear it for religious or medical reasons.
In this case, you will need an endorsement on your ID.

Selfies
No selfies as it can distort the face.

For babies
We recommend that you lay the baby on a clear and smooth plane, firmly fixed to the base or floor.
The photo should be taken above the baby, with them facing forward, with their eyes open, their face in sight and no objects or people in the background.
