Any adult or emancipated Cape Verdean citizen can apply for the certificate of capacity to marry. The application requires the following documents:

How to apply for the certificate of capacity to marry online
You can apply for the certificate of capacity to marry on the portal or in the GOV.CV app. Click "Apply online" to start and follow these steps:

Fill in the applicant's identification details
Enter first name, last name and other required details
Attach the documents
Attach the applicable documents
Finalize the request
Check and, if necessary, change the details before finalizing the request
Make the payment
Pay simply and securely using digital means
Track your request
Track the status of your certificate of capacity to marry request in the "My requests" area available on the portal or in the GOV.CV app.
