With the minor's registration declaration, it is possible to register children with foreign first names. The original form of the foreign name is entered in the civil registry of Cabo Verde, without variations.
Who can apply for the declaration and what is needed
The minor's registration declaration can be requested by the parents or legal guardians of the minor.

The cost of the minor's registration declaration varies depending on where the request is made. The amounts for requests made in Cabo Verde differ from those applicable to requests made abroad.

How to apply for the minor's registration declaration online
You can request the minor's registration declaration on the portal or in the GOV.CV app. Click "Apply online" to start and follow these steps:
Indicate who the request is for

Fill in the identification details
Enter first name, last name and other required details
Indicate the place of birth
Select the country and place of birth
Enter additional information
Enter the first name to be assigned
Finalize the request
Check and, if necessary, change the details before finalizing the request.

Track the status of your minor's registration declaration request in the "My requests" area available on the portal or in the GOV.CV app.
