Who can apply and what is needed
The divorce transcription can be requested by Cape Verdean citizens residing in the country or in the diaspora. Before requesting the transcription, have the following documents ready:

Divorce transcription request form signed by the applicant;

Divorce decree certificate;

Identification document.

Birth certificate of the foreign spouse with divorce annotation (if applicable);

The cost of the divorce transcription varies depending on where the request is made. The amounts for requests made in Cabo Verde differ from those applicable to requests made abroad.

How to apply for the divorce transcription online
You can request the divorce transcription on the portal or in the GOV.CV app. Click "Apply online" to start and follow these steps:
Fill in the applicant's identification details
Enter first name, last name and other required details
Provide the identification document
Enter the type, number and date of the document
Indicate the place of birth
Select the country and place of birth
Fill in the spouse's identification details
Provide the spouse's biographical details, place of birth and document
Attach the documents
Always attach documents that are currently valid
Finalize the request
Check and, if necessary, change the details before finalizing the request.

Track the status of your divorce transcription request in the "My requests" area available on the portal or in the GOV.CV app.
